Over himself, over his own body and mind, the individual is sovereign.
John Locke

Welcome to the Individualist Movement website. Here  we hope to explain who we are and what we hope to achieve. Please browse through the menu choices on the left. They are arranged in order to lead you gently into an understanding of individualism.
We would love to hear your opinion on the feedback page.

A group for individuals is, by definition, a contradiction. Why would any self-respecting and freedom-loving individual feel inclined to join a group?

Perhaps the best answer is: for company. Being alone in the world is scary. Humans are social creatures by nature. We all require the support and reassurance of our fellows. So the Individualist Movement will create and foster a fellowship of individuals who share a similar view of Liberty.

A second answer is: for enlightenment and education. The philosophy of the Individualist Movement is derived from the classical liberal tradition. It is the basis of Western Civilization, the American constitution, and the modern libertarian movement. Nevertheless this philosophy is under great threat in the modern world. The Individualist Movement hopes to enlighten both its own members and members of the broader public in this valuable tradition.

A third answer is: for influence. The voices of lone individuals are easily ignored. For better or worse, the voices of many individuals gathered in a group holds more sway.

A fourth answer is: for action. Most worthwhile things in this world are accomplished by groups led by individuals. If you have an objective which you wish to achieve you are more likely to succeed as a group than as an individual.

If you find that you like the principles of the Individualist Manifesto we invite you to join us.
